Bitterness – Part 2

Let’s look at God’s word about unforgiveness

Did you know Jesus said in Matthew 6:15 KJV? “But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

1 John 4:20 “If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.” and 1 John 3:20

We all have enemies either in the work place, bosses that abuse you, in the church, old friends who turned against you and use you or abuse you.  Some of you have witches persecuting you causing havoc in your life!  How about cruel fathers or mothers that abused you?  What did Jesus say to do?

Matt. 5:44 “But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,”  Not only did he say love them and pray for them but also in Luke 6:2 ““But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,”  – do good to them!  This is definately kililng the flesh since the flesh wants to do the opposite.  This is sanctification!

Back in the 90’s I worked with witches in my office and this one tried to get me fired, hide my work and turned the workers and boss against me.  I just got the side of my car fixed and the next day, in the garage at work, was ripped off and worse and then hit another five (5) times in six (6) months with no witnesses.  I knew where it was coming from and I got bitter.  The Lord told me to forgive her, pray for her salvation and bless her.  I said “no way, Lord.”

I told some missionary friends about my situation at work and what the Lord told me to do.   They served as missionaries in Africa (in the bush) and shared their story with me which convinced me to pray for my enemies – these witches.  These missionaries were in Africa ministering to the local (bush) people, there were witch doctors coming against them.  Everything that could break did on the field.  Every kind of problem happened because of the curses sent to them.  The husband, Tom, got bitter and was throwing the curses back to them.  Result, lost a son in a weird way that they knew it was a result of the witch doctors throwing powerful curses at them.

One day the Lord showed up to them and told Tom to forgive the witch doctors and pray for them.  Tom was bitter at the witch doctors for killing his son. He struggled but out of obedience Tom decided to submit to prayer and pray for these evil witch doctors.  As his heart changed and got God’s love and burdened for them, Tom noticed the attacks stopped coming.

He continued to pray and intercede until one day the head witch doctor came to Tom’s hut and said “who is your God?”  Tom said “why”?  The witch doctor said, “Every curse we throw at you is coming back on us.”  We realized your God is greater than our god.  Tom led these witch doctors to the Lord and revival broke out in the bush town.  Many salvations, healings and deliverances took place.

My heart melted and I decided to be obedient and pray for these witches at my job.  I would intercede most of my day at work.  As the days passed, my heart changed and I got the love of Christ in my heart as well as a burdened for these woman’s salvation.  I felt the presence of God like never before.  I even felt many large warring angels surrounding me.  I sensed 9 large angels which was later confirmed by a prophet in Canada.

The Lord showed me that love is the greatest gift and becomes a banner of protection.  He showed me when I operate in love the curses bounce off back to them because of the spiritual hedge of protection.  It is not my place to pay evil with evil.  He reminded me of Romans 12:17-23 “Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”  This is not easy to do with your enemies but the Lord will help you if you submit to His Word.

At night I would have dreams like a Moses experience that my face was full of light and would enter into her office (covered up with a veil) and see her fall to the floor repenting and turning her life over to the Lord.  I was waiting for that day.  I could hear all her troubles happening to her since she was still throwing curses at me but the Lord returned vengeance back to her.  The same week I would have have reoccuring dreams she got fired and I cried. I was shocked for my tears for this woman.  I’m believing I will see her in heaven.

What I have learned through this entire experience is when evil people want to harm you, to pray for them.  This keeps a root of bitterness from taking hold into your heart and you have the peace of God.  Lord can bless you out of your obedience.  Another factor I noticed was the blessings I received and favor I had with man.  One of the many examples is: I would periodically get free coffee from this restaurant.

Today I am working with another evil person in the work place who really did try to bring harm, embarrassment, humiliation and lied about me to others for something I didn’t do on several occasions.  I had all the reasons to be mad at her but I chose to forgive her.  Yes, I had to work it out of my heart so that I can stand in the gap and pray for her salvation.  So far I have favor with my enemies at work.  She is actually being nice towards me.  I see God much bigger than her demons and I walk with my head up high and I come in as an ambassador of Christ in the work place releasing His presence around me like an aroma.  I see she is intimidated around me.

Some time back the Lord showed me when Abraham came in a land of milk and honey; it was full pagans and enemies but he had peace with them.  I believe we can be around our enemies, if we keep our heart right, we can have peace with them. Then, hopefully, win them to the Lord.

Before Jesus died he said in Luke 23:24 “Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”  Many of His enemies casting lots before Him.  I cannot imagine his grief when He looked out and saw all those He fed, taught, healed, and delivered and they turned against Him saying “Persecute Him.”  He knew it was not them but sin (which is a spirit) working in them. He forgave them!

Another area many do is stuff their bitterness (unforgiveness and resentment).  Do you make excuses for someone’s behavior?  We need to be doers of God’s word and forgive.  Stuffing does not get rid of bitterness.  Stuffing feelings of unforgiveness and resentment is repressing (a holding in) a lot of feelings.  Bitterness is a spirit and can be hidden doing havoc to your body.  More on this subject next week.
